Self Compacting Concrete With Quarry Dust And Fly Ash

Self Compacting Concrete With Quarry Dust And Fly Ash

Mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete ...

Jan 01, 2012 · Silica fume (SF) and fly ash (FA) are normally used in Self compacting concrete (SCC). Since these materials are costly, SCC was developed utilizing a cheap waste material, namely quarry dust powder (QDP). Mechanical properties of SCC with QDP were better than those of SCC with SF or FA. The use of QDP in SCC resulted in cost saving and the utilization of waste materials.

Effect of Quarry Waste on Self-Compacting Concrete ...

Quarry waste replacement showed the desirable results that can suggest the usage in self-compacting concrete as well as in normally vibrated concrete. This stone presents the results of the experimental work conducted to study the effect of quarry waste on self-compacting concrete containing binary cementitious blends of fly ash and cement.

Properties of bricks made using fly ash, quarry dust and ...

Apr 01, 2013 · The quarry dust and cement were firstly placed in a mixer and dry mixed for 2 min. Billet scale and fly ash were then added and mixed for another 2 min. The mixer was kept covered with burlap during mixing to avoid the volatility of materials. Water was then added to the constituent materials and mixed for another 2 min.

Water Absorption and Compressive Strength of Self ...

Bradu, studied the water absorption of self-compacting concrete (SCC) addition of fly ash in the mixture. Findings indicated that water absorption value of SCC is affected by with addition of fly ash, the cement type and w/c ratio. Significant improvement in the properties of SCC has seen by the addition of fly ash.

Effect of fly ash and silica fume on compressive strength ...

Jun 01, 2011 · The tests carried out by Yazicioglu et al. to investigate the influence of curing conditions on the mechanical properties of self-compacting concrete, demonstrated that water cured specimens always have the highest values followed by sealed-cured specimens and air-cured irrespective of type and age of concrete and test methods. For both concrete compressive and tensile strength tests, the SCC with silica fume gives the highest values followed by SCC with fly …

Corrosion resistance of self-compacting concrete ...

Dec 01, 2012 · The corrosion resistance of self-compacting concrete (SCC) has not been investigated yet. In the reported study the corrosion resistance of SCC incorporating quarry dust powder, silica fume and fly ash was studied. The chloride permeability of the developed SCC was low to moderate and the corrosion resistance was high.
